The Difference Between Tithe & Offering

“Tithe” is what God called the believers of the church to give. Which was 10% of your increase? Your “increase” is anything you gain, whether it is money, valuables, food, etc.

“Offering” is a gift to the Lord out of love. To see His message spread. “Offering” is giving on top of tithing.

So remember this the next time you go to a church fundraiser. This doesn’t count as a tithe. This is out of love for your church and more importantly for God.

FYI: Please give tithe to the church that feeds you. We all need to play our part to better equip the ones who God has commissioned to spread the gospel message to the world and in doing so you will avoid the curse. Mwah haa haa haaa!!! No, seriously! Check it!

Malachi 3:9-11

9)“You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10) Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11) I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty.”

“What does this have to do with worship?” You might ask. Well singing and playing an instrument aren’t the only ways to worship God. We worship Him when we acknowledge who He is and respond appropriately.

Keep worshiping!
