Just recently I’ve been learning some things about grace and I just wanted to share a little bit of it with you all, not as judgment but as an encouragement. In church, in business, or just in life in general, we can’t/shouldn’t judge or hinder people from serving because of their past history or whatever sins they have committed. I’m not saying don’t be cautious, I’m just saying that God can use anyone and everyone.

Take Judas Iscariot for example; we all know him as the disciple who betrayed Jesus and later hung himself for it. But did you know that he was also a thief? You see Judas had a problem with greed. You can see this by the way he betrayed Jesus for 30 silver coins, or how he constantly stole money from the offering box. Did you also know that Judas was in charge of Jesus’ and the disciple’s finances? In fact, Jesus Himself put Judas in charge of the finances. Wait…? What? In charge of the finances? That’s right. I know what you’re thinking, Why would Jesus put Judas in charge of the finances if he was a thief? Did Jesus not know Judas was a thief? Of course He did. Jesus is all-powerful, all-knowing, He’s omniscient. So why did Jesus do it? Was Jesus just setting Judas up for failure? Of course not. Jesus knew that Judas had a problem with greed. But Jesus showed grace on Judas and put him in that position not to see him fail but to give him a chance to overcome.

So you see if Jesus could give his betrayer a chance to succeed, shouldn’t we be willing to show grace to people as well? Remember Romans 5:8:

“Yet while we were still sinners, Christ came and died for us.”
