I’m sure a lot of you are like me. You want to see God move in your church, congregation, small group, or worship team. But it just doesn’t seem to happen (or you just don’t notice it). Am I right?  Well the Lord has certainly called me out on this. Just last night I was literally asking God, “What is hindering us from growing closer to You in my church and worship team?” So I grabbed my bible and said, “Ok God, give me the answer.” And this is what I read;

“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops and the trees of the field will produce their fruit.” “I will look favorably upon you, making you fertile and multiply your people.”

Now on that same token.

“However, if you do not listen to me or obey all these commands, and if you break my covenant by rejecting my decrees, treating my regulations with contempt and refusing to obey my commands I will punish you.”

I don’t know about you, but ouch! Leviticus gives us a good warning, we would be wise to heed this warning and to read this ourselves and to really ponder the questions, are we doing what God has called us to do? Am I being a good steward of what God has given to me? Is my home in order? Is my life in order? All these things can really have an effect on our ministries, good and bad.

Let me be transparent with you for a second. The problem that God was calling me out on, was this; of recent, I have been more focused on the business side of worship and not focused enough on the spiritual side. It’s really easy for me to get caught up in the technicalities of stuff. Don’t get me wrong, the technical side of worship is very important but so is the spiritual side. It’s up to us to create a good balance between the two and to remember to not leave one out. Especially reading the bible in your quiet time. Quiet time is very important for anyone to keep. =]

“So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” and vice versa.
