“You Open Up The Door”

I wrote a song called “You Open Up The Doors” a long time ago when I was in a tough place. And I have found that the God that worked on my heart then is the same God that is at work in my heart now (Hebrews 13:8). The Chorus goes like this,

“You open up the doors and I’ll run the race. I’ll follow where you lead me, through the trails of your grace. And if I fall right here today. You pick me up and show me there’s another way. Because You open up the doors.”

There will be times in your life that you think everything is falling apart, and that nothing is going right. But hold on! Stay steadfast in your faith. Because our God is not a god that quits. Our God is a god of perseverance. (1 Corinthians 9:24)….. Ok, I’m sorry but I have to write this scripture out because it is one of my favorites.

“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”

You can bet that God will provide a way. But it’s up to us to finish the race, to keep the faith. When a door “SLAMS!!!” in your face, realize that whatever is on the other side of that door is nothing compared to the eternal glory that awaits for you just through the threshold of the door God has for you.
